What was the highlight of Dream Villa Riverside
Clear Blue & Refreshing
The Hotel was very calm and relaxing. It has a beautiful Pool onsite that is clear blue and refreshing to swim in especially under hot weather. Vietnamese style Food and Drink is really good here too. The reception was very great at providing directions and assistance.
It can be a little too quiet and private if you like that sort of thing. Then again, you can always talk to reception that is home warming conversation and likes to help out when they can.

What was the highlight of Dream Villa Riverside
Exceptional
Clean, modern facilities with great showers and hot water. Bed was very comfortable. We even managed a quick swim even though weather bit nippy but a great pool for warmer days In a peaceful part of town. Definitely a bonus away from karaoke on main strip but an easy walk or ride in about 1km. Owners very helpful and kind. More bedding provided when requested as nights were cold. Pick up and drop off in town for buses. Son came back to bus drop off with my notebook I had left behind. Definitely recommend we stayed 3 nights in the end and owners generously let us use room till giving us lift for 9pm bus in town.
Maybe more variety of fruit at breakfast and option to help yourself to hot water for tea.

What was the highlight of Dream Villa Riverside
Exceptional
The owners do not speak English but via Google Translate and sign language we communicated perfectly. The property is in a quiet part of Phong Nha overlooking the river, it is a beautiful spot. Even with the language barrier they go beyond expectations for making you feel at home, eating with the family and welcoming you into their lives. Simply wonderful.

What was the highlight of Dream Villa Riverside
Nice place but not the best experience
The place is nice, our room was big and we had a large terrace pretty much to ourselves. It’s a beautiful location with a great view. There’s a pool at the back which was a nice touch. The family were very friendly and even invited us for dinner on our first night, which was lovely. We were able to check out late which was really helpful.
We booked over Tet, already quite concerned that most shops and restaurants will be closed, we messaged the owners a few times to check. As we were getting daily breakfast (previous reviews said it was very good) we weren’t too worried about the lack of food. However the owners left early the next morning, and things changed as we had new inexperienced hosts looking after us. The two young people looking after us didn’t do any daily house keeping, the first morning we were woken up quite abruptly and very loudly at 7.20am for breakfast (even though the previous evening we told them we will be down between 8-8.30 as we planned a trip that day), the second morning we were woken up AGAIN in a loud way at 7.30am. I had to politely ask them to not do that again - explaining that we are on holiday, would like a lie in sometimes and that guests should come down in their own time between given time of 7-9/10am. We didn’t get a choice of food for breakfast, nor there was any tea - only eggs, bread and coffee. A big storm happened overnight and the power in our room cut out, that in itself isn’t a problem but as the hosts weren’t the owners, they had no clue to what to do and how to deal with it. Someone was called out and somehow within 20 minutes we ended up with no water and no electricity. We were then moved to a different room which had both water and electricity. Having to move our bags and wasted nearly half of our day already, we decided to have quick showers and leave for the day. Halfway through showering the water cut out, having to get out and complain all wet and soapy wasn’t ideal... especially to them find out that the water was turned off on purpose by the maintenance man (to fix the electricity) however we weren’t given any warning or notice.
